"Career Perspectives: Teaching Science"

Join us for an afternoon with Marco Pagnotta, Ph.D: Teacher Extraordinaire

Love doing science and working with students? A career teaching science may be right for you.Learn more with Dr. Pagnotta who will share his own career trajectory, his perspectives on teaching and doing research at a liberal arts college versus high school. Also, learn more about research and other creative opportunities at the high school level.

Dr. Marco Pagnotta received his Ph.D from Harvard in 1984 for his research on the conjugative interactions in olefins. Afterwards he became an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Barnard College where he received the Emily Gregory Award for Excellence in Teaching.He then went on to Dwight-Englewood School, a private college preparatory high school where he now presides as Chair of the Science Department.Here he keeps his students engaged through creative hands on experiences such as the New Jersey Chemistry Olympics and the "Watershed Project”, among others.
