My Mom's brother Clarence in 1968. Sandy says "Clarence lived with Ella and Zeke during the depression. Dad [Zeke] and Clarence tried to find work and Ella kept up the house. I think my father tried to get into the painting business or anything to make ends meet... He eventually became a Bootlegger and did pretty well..." (after Prohibition he went straight and had successful ice and beer distributing businesses). Clarence is still a bit of mystery. The scant paper trail suggests he was in the Merchant Marine in World War II, as a Chief Cook, and he was still at sea as a cook as late as 1955.
