What makes a good analysis?
When it comes to analysis, remember that most introductory statistics courses (including ours) do not cover multiple regression or analysis of variance until the very end. Thus, the design and analysis of the project will necessarily be focused on graphical displays and simple comparisons. You can make reasonable graphs (such as in Stata, typically histograms and scatterplots). Students' most common errors are to simply present raw computer output and to report unrounded results (for example, reporting a confidence interval of -58.5962 with standard error 191.1593). |
