Technical Requirements

The following software, plug-ins and network connection are required to use this site:

1. Browser: Netscape versions 4.x up to 4.76 OR Internet Explorer versions 4.x or later. Your browser must have JavaScript eneabled.
   Download Netscape Communicator 4.76
   Download Internet Explorer 5.5 for Windows
   Download Internet Explorer 5.0 for the Macintosh
2. RealPlayer 7 or later:
   Download RealPlayer 8
3. Adobe Acrobat Reader (for viewing PDF files):
   Download Acrobat Reader
4. Network connection: the minimum connection is a 56K modem; faster connection is recommended.

Special Features

The course web site as a whole is designed and maintained by the Columbia University Center for New Media Teaching and Learning. However, certain features that have been integrated into the course web site are designed and maintained by Blackboard.com. These features include the Bulletin Board, the Student Drop Box, and the Student Pages.
