Course Requirements

  1. 2 short (3-5 page) memoranda on the readings (20%). Everyone must complete 1 of these memoranda by February 22 and the second by the last day of class. These memoranda are to be critiques of assumptions, methods, or logic, analyses of the implications of omissions, or extensions of an article or chapter from the assigned reading. More details will be given on 1/18.
  2. A re-write of each memoranda (20%)
  3. One 7 page (no longer!) Paper on the social history of an object (40%)
  4. Class participation (20%). Since participation counts heavily, and we have no midterm or final, it is expected that you will attend class and do the readings.
