This was Digital's first video terminal from 1970. Uppercase ASCII only, 20 rows × 72 columns. Extremely primitive in terms of functionality. We had a VT05 in our PDP-11/50 machine room in 1975, shown at left along with an LA36 DECwriter hard-copy terminal, a General Electric TermiNet 300 high-speed hardcopy terminal, and a small part of the PDP-11 at left (click the image for details). At the time, we were evaluating different terminals for use in brand-new public terminal rooms.
