| Course Description | The course is designed to introduce PhD students in Sociology to basic techniques for collecting, interpreting, analyzing, reporting, and theorizing from interview and observational data. Through instructional and exemplary readings and practical exercises, students will learn the theory and practice behind inductive and abductive field-based analysis, with an aim toward developing or refining an ongoing research project. |
